Schneider Electric Launches Eco2.0

Energy Management - Variable Speed Drives - Energy Management Systems

Schneider Speed Drive

Global energy management specialist Schneider Electric has launched ECO2.0, a new software tool that estimates energy savings achievable when using an Altivar Variable Speed Drive (VSD) solution instead of a standard mechanical solution.

The user-friendly software has been designed to easily compare end-users energy consumption both with and without a VSD. It can then calculate the expected savings, payback on the investment and also advise customers on which Altivar variable speed drive would be the most appropriate.

Additionally, the ECO2.0 software supports three different ranges of specialised drives for HVAC applications; Altivar 212, Altivar 61 and Altivar 61 Plus. Once installed, the software can then be operated by a PC, smartphone or tablet and can be used to generate performance reports, ensuring that customers have energy performance data at their fingertips.

Nipun Sibal, marketing manager for drives at Schneider Electric, comments: “Many customers considering installing a variable speed drive are often unsure of the payback period, or are unclear about how much energy a VSD can actually save.”

“This new software is a fantastic tool that clearly demonstrates potential energy savings from both a financial and electrical perspective. Further to this, the software will also highlight the reduction in carbon emissions that can be achieved by simply installing a VSD.”
